PDMX is the software version of the classic Program Delay Manager appliance (PDM II). This forward -looking software container product captures the extensive features and ease of use of its hardware counterpart while moving the functionality to a pure software & AoIP embodiment for server- and virtualized workflows.
PDMX includes our patented PD-Alert system, a feature set that internally archives a time-stamped before/after audio file snapshot whenever the Dump button is pressed. PD-Alert can be set to automatically email one or more station personnel, such as the Program Director, General Manager, or the legal department, whenever a dump event occurs.
Audio is sent and received using Livewire+AES67 AoIP standards. PDMXs extensive data delay features ensure that Livewire contact closures, PAD data, and IP traffic remain synchronized with audio content during delay, expansion, compression or when Dump is activated. PDMX can be controlled by on-air systems or other applications through the use of Livewire GPIOs, or with serial data over IP using a simple command language.
As with our PDM II hardware delay, PDMX users can build a delay by time expansion (where audio plays slower than real-time) or audio file playout (where one of the internally stored audio files plays while the talents audio buffers).
Exiting a delay can be accomplished through rollout (where talent pauses and waits to resume talking after the buffer has emptied) or time compression (where audio plays faster than real-time until the delay is reduced to 0). Seamless time expansion and compression algorithms keep the on-air product sounding natural, even on stereo music, and rates can be adjusted dynamically depending on audio content. Delay sizes can be set according to user
preference, up to a maximum of 99 seconds.
PDMXs simple, password-protected HTML5 UI allows for easy configuration and control from any smartphone, tablet, or PC.
PDMX requires the purchase of a Telos Alliance Deployment Package:
