2wcom MPX-2c 2-channel MPX Composite Decoder with 2 Power Supplies
The MPX-2c is a point to point or point to multipoint MPX codec using IP-based network technologies for real-time distribution of complete FM-MPX ( FM composite signal) to connect your signal generation in the studio directly to the transmitter site. Based on the know-how of FMC01 and customer requirements the MPX-2c offers you a variety of features and opportunities to ease your daily work.
The codec is designed for broadcasters with professional requirements in signal quality, the monitoring of the distributed signal, and the flexible usage in their network. The MPX-2c has analogue and digital interfaces and optional it’s possible to decode the MPX signal to L+R audio. The MPX-2c saves the sound processing (stereo generation) and RDS generation on the transmitter site and brings this into the studio/playout center. The signal is generated once and can be distributed to various transmitter sites via IP (multichannel). This saves rack space, service, and support on the transmitter site.
A full FM-MPX signal needs approx. 3.5 Mbyte IP data capacity. In addition, we can sample the signal with lower resolution bandwidth. By enabling the µMPX mode, the MPX-2c will be able to reduce the bandwidth starting at 320 kbps. All soft- and hardware components are individually combinable.
Dual Streaming and Pro-MPEG FEC ensure rock-solid IP transmission or you go beyond with SRT (secure reliable transport). The optional two hot-pluggable power supplies guaranteeing fail-safe operation complete the whole concept perfectly. Configuration set-up via an easy to use web interface for general settings as well as for backup or fall back. For remote control, the codec offers various possibilities – HTTP, FTP, Telnet, NMS, SNMP. Perfect synchronization can be achieved by PTPv2 and latency control.
