Blackmagic Teranex Express
The Teranex Express is an up and down converter that includes the first 12G-SDI connections so you can up and down convert between SD, HD and Ultra HD video standards.With most of our product lines now supporting Ultra HD, we needed a way to convert to and from the Ultra HD world. It features the same amazing Teranex de-interlacer, but it also includes a whole new scaling engine so the up and down conversions are even better than before. Good quality image scaling is important when scaling to Ultra HD frame sizes.The front panel looks identical to other Teranex models so it’s easy to use. It includes dual link 6G-SDI in and out, but channel A is 12G-SDI. This means it can also convert between dual link 6G-SDI connections and single link 12G-SDI connections. It also has an optical fiber socket so you can add optical fiber SDI connections by adding an optical module if required.

Teranex AV is specifically designed with new features for live events and professional AV installations, as well as broadcast and post production workflows. You get 1,089 up, down, cross and standards conversions for all formats up to 2160p60, along with Teranex’s patented algorithms and legendary image quality. Teranex AV offers low latency, and features a still store for adding logos and graphics, a live freeze frame and can generate a reference signal. You get professional 12G-SDI and quad SDI connections which can be used simultaneously, consumer HiFi, XLR audio, HDMI in, loop and outputs, and more! There are even metal brackets at the rear to prevent cables and connections from getting damaged when installed in tight locations!

All Teranex standards converters feature an easy to use front panel which has been precisely designed to put all of the conversion options you need at your fingertips. The panel includes an integrated LCD screen for previewing video, and control buttons that light up to indicate the status of each conversion. Use the built in LCD screen to quickly find the conversion settings you’re looking for with its logically laid out, easy to use menus. You can use the soft buttons alongside the LCD screen and the control knob to fine tune settings and make precise adjustments with confidence, even during live events or broadcast.
Teranex Express and Teranex AV feature multi-rate 12G-SDI connections that are compatible with all of your existing equipment and work with all formats up to 2160p60! They can even convert between single link 12G-SDI and dual link 6G-SDI or quad link 3G-SDI. Teranex AV also includes HDMI 2.0a, XLR for balanced analog or digital AES/EBU audio, and consumer HiFi connections, along with rear brackets that protect all of the cables from being bent when installed in tight spaces! Both models feature a reference input, ethernet for remote control, and an industry standard optical fiber socket that lets you install optional fiber modules so you can run video and audio over massive distances! Teranex standards converters include a built in 110/240V international power supply with a standard IEC connection so you can use it anywhere in the world. The international power supply is perfect for when broadcast trucks and mini racks are used in different countries because all you need to do is source a local power cord and your Teranex will switch voltage automatically.
