The Broadcast Tools® SRC-16 + G2 is a computer GPIO interface to the real world. Using RS-232 serial or TCP/UDP Ethernet port the SRC-16 + G2 can notify your PC software program that any of 16 optically isolated inputs have been opened or closed and allow your software to control any of the 16 SPST, 1-amp (form A) relays.

Communication with the SRC-16 + G2 can be accomplished via short “burst” type ASCII or binary commands from your PC (computer mode.) Alternatively, the SRC-16 + G2 may be used in Data mode which allows the user to define custom ACSII strings to control the relays as well as send custom ASCII strings when an input is on or off. Two units may be operated in a standalone pair mode to form a “relay extension cord,” with 16 channels of bi-directional I/O over serial or Ethernet. The unit can communicate using RS-232, TCP, or UDP. Serial data rates up to 38,400 baud are supported. The SRC-16 + G2 may be expanded to 64 inputs and 64 outputs from a single serial or Ethernet port by adding up to three additional units.

• 16 optically-isolated status/trigger inputs. Dry contact (default), or wet +3.3 to +24 VDC input, or +25 – +48 VDC input via an external 3.3K ohm resistor.
• 16 SPST (form A) dry contact (30v @ 1-amp maximum) relay outputs, normally open (default,) or normally closed, each jumper selectable.
• RS-232 serial interface and TCP/UDP Ethernet interface for connection to a PC or Network.
• Backwards compatible with the AT1616, SRC-16 and SRC-16 Plus commands.
• LED indicators for all inputs and relay outputs.
• Status and relay connections are on removable euro-block screw terminal connectors to simplify wiring and service, mating plugs are supplied.
• Expansion ports allow up to three additional units to be added (daisy-chained) to one serial/Ethernet port for up to 64 inputs and outputs.
• Fully RFI proofed.
• Surge protected internal power supply, 9VDC @1amp universal switching power adapter with 120/240 IEC AC input supplied
• Up to two SRC-16 + G2’s may be rack mounted on one RA-1, 1-RU rack shelf.

Application

• One end of a full-duplex sixteen channel serial or Ethernet enabled I/O extension cord.
• Relay control and status monitoring via user supplied PC or Network application
• Convert contact closures to custom ASCII strings
• Convert customer ASCII strings to contact closures.

• Digital Inputs: 16 - Optically Isolated inputs, dry configuration (default) or wet configuration +3.3 to 24 VDC input, or +25-48 VDC input via an external 3.3K ohm resistor). 50 ms minimum duration.
• Relay Outputs: 16 - SPST, 1 amp/30 VDC relays. Jumper selectable either normally open (N.O) or normally closed (N.C) Factory default = N.O.
• RS-232 Serial Port: 1,200, 4,800, 9,600, or 38,400 baud, 8 data bits, no parity, 1 stop bit.
• Display: LED’s for inputs, relays, Tx & Rx serial data, TCP link, and power.
